All of the players on the Somers High boys varsity soccer team should be very proud of our accomplishments this year. We came farther than anyone thought we would, and we played harder than even we thought we could. It was a great season, we put a lot of hard work into it and I am disapointed to see it end this way. It is a depressing way to end our senior season, and yet, it is still a great accomplishment. We played a hell of a game, but it seems that hard work doesnt matter, all that matters are the calls made by the referees, no matter their competency level. But enough about one bad game, when we had so many great games. It was an awesome season, and we shouldn't have any regrets. Thanks for a great season, it was an impressive achievement any way you look at it, and I had a blast.

Although I was not present at the game I am still a member and part of the Somers High Varsity Boys Soccer Team and feel cheated. To know that a whole season of hard work and practices is all over becuase of a HORRIBLE call is unfortunate. 19 young men including myself worked very hard this year and to have it all come to an end over one play that cost us our first Semi-Final game ever STINKS! The CIAC should be able to appoint officials capable of doing thier job this late in the Class S tourney. As a certified ref i know the rules of the game and one of the first things i was taught in class was not to let the fans make the call. It appears that this official listened to the Granby fans and they made his final call for him. I know that it is too late now for anything else to happen..no calls can be reversed again..so i guess all we can really do is concertrate on what an awesome season we did have! Going 13-5-1 is something to be very proud of! The Somers High Boys Soccer Team knows that they should be in the finals but can do little if anything about it. This Fri/Sat when the class S finals are played I will be present wearing my Red Warm Ups, representing Somers High with a lot of pride. If only one Granby fan notices me then my point will be made..that We should be there and not them! To the rest of my team mates, i think we all know that this year was a great year and we can only keep our heads up and remember all of the good things rather then the bad. I know that for the 9 seniors it is a tough way to go out but Chris, Kevin, Matt, Dave, Dave, Chris, Ryan, Nick, and Sean you guys are always going to be Spartans, and Spartans never stop fighting! So next year we will have to pick up right where we left off and continue the winning season streak! Great Season guys!

I was present at the Somers Granby game last night. And yes the refing was awful both ways, but you can't worry about the refing or blame the game on the ref. I am a Somers fan, even though I dont go to the school, and I am friends with a lot of the kids on the team. You guys played great yesterday and all season, dont let this ruin your season. Yeah mabey the call was bad (I thought it was) but take the defeat like a man, congradulate Granby on getting in the final and know that you did a great job to get there and played your best in that game. Great season, but dont start blaming a ref and ruin what a great season you had. ================================================================================

Hello this is Johnny and Kevin,
We too feel very cheated. we should all go to the game with signs that say go Somers. We should also send these clips to all of the players on Granby. Then we should find out where the ref lives and send him the video. We worked very hard to get to the point to which we got, we did not deserve to be cheated like this. Were are very disgusted that a Semi-final game got such incapable refs that look into the crowd for answers.
Dan was right that we should be proud of what we accomplished and we should not hang our heads. We worked hard and deserved to play for the State Championship.

I aggree with Dan and I think that there should be a rematch as a result of the lack of referee competency.
